Festival Massimo Amfiteatrof: all the appointments

XXV EDITION from 25 June – 11 September 2016 – Levanto

Since 1992, every summer the town of Levanto is organizing an international music festival dedicated to Massimo Amfiteatrof to remember the emotional connection of the great cellist with the Ligurian town.
The Amfiteatrof family of origin had to Levanto, where he settled in 1922, a key role, catalysing Russian artists and intellectuals exiled in Italy at that time.

Originally organized in the small cloister of the Convent of the Annunciation, the Festival was later moved to the churchyard of the parish church of Sant’Andrea. Today concerts are located in several locations and touch the most beautiful places of the town.

Over time, the festival has established itself for the high quality of its proposals and their heterogeneity. To classical music concerts alongside it shows concerning training and performance of contemporary and experimental imprint, the result of contamination between music and other forms of artistic expression.
